What is a member chapter?
Member chapters of The Arc of Texas provide supports and services to meet the needs and priorities within their area. In all communities, member chapters of The Arc of Texas work to ensure that people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) are included in their home communities and can make their own decisions about their lives.
In some communities, member chapters of The Arc of Texas provide direct residential, vocational, and community-living support services. In other areas, where Local IDD Authorities (LIDDAs) or other agencies provide basic community-based services, members chapters of The Arc of Texas may provide a variety of ancillary services, including parent support, self-advocacy programs, recreation and social experiences, and respite care.
