Become a part of the largest organization in the United States dedicated to improving the quality of life for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities! When you join The Arc, you lend your personal support to a nationwide movement of volunteers working together to create programs, services, rights, and benefits for people with intellectual disabilities. In fact, the person with disabilities that you care most about is probably already benefitting from the work of The Arc’s members over the last 60 years. If you are not a member of The Arc, we invite you to join either by contacting your local chapter or by becoming an At Large Member today. In addition, your membership dues enable The Arc to:

  • Monitor state and national legislative and systemic progress regarding issues that impact families and people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Encourage progressive legislation that benefits people with disabilities.
  • Support statewide outreach efforts to develop new local chapters of The Arc.
  • Provide a toll-free bilingual information and referral service to people with disabilities, their families, and the professionals who work with them.
  • Make the public aware of the needs, rights, and abilities of people with intellectual and other developmental disabilities.
  • Develop and promote effective programs and services that improve the quality of life for people with intellectual and other developmental disabilities.
  • Provide The Arc of Texas Master Pooled Trust, a special needs trust fund exclusively for people with disabilities.
  • Train people with disabilities and their families how to become effective self-advocates.
  • Train educators how to successfully include students with disabilities in regular educational settings.

Chapter membership (only $15 annually) provides you:

  • Membership in The Arc of Texas, The Arc of the United States, and your local chapter of The Arc
  • Subscriptions to local, state, and national newsletters of The Arc.
  • An opportunity to participate in statewide and regional conferences.
  • Access to services provided by The Arc at the local, state, and national levels.
  • Up-to-date information regarding legislative issues, government benefits, and other timely topics that affect people with disabilities and their families.
  • The support of other families and professionals who care passionately about the future of people with disabilities.

At Large membership (only $5 annually) provides you:

  • Membership in The Arc of Texas, The Arc of the United States
  • Subscriptions to state, and national newsletters of The Arc.
  • An opportunity to participate in statewide and regional conferences.
  • Access to services provided by The Arc at the state and national levels.
  • Up-to-date information regarding legislative issues, government benefits, and other timely topics that affect people with disabilities and their families.
  • The support of other families and professionals who care passionately about the future of people with disabilities.
