Become a part of the largest organization in the United States dedicated to improving the quality of life for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities!
Your support through membership enables The Arc to:
- Monitor state and national legislative and systemic progress regarding issues that impact families and people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Encourage progressive legislation that benefits people with disabilities.
- Support statewide outreach efforts to develop new local chapters of The Arc.
- Provide a toll-free bilingual information and referral service to people with disabilities, their families, and the professionals who work with them.
- Make the public aware of the needs, rights, and abilities of people with intellectual and other developmental disabilities.
- Develop and promote effective programs and services that improve the quality of life for people with intellectual and other developmental disabilities.
- Provide The Arc of Texas Master Pooled Trust, a special needs trust fund exclusively for people with disabilities.
- Train people with disabilities and their families how to become effective self-advocates.
- Train educators how to successfully include students with disabilities in regular educational settings.
As a part of your membership, you receive:
- Membership in The Arc of Texas, The Arc of the United States, and your local chapter of The Arc.*

- Access to services provided by The Arc at the local, state, and national levels.

*When you pay your annual dues, you are automatically registered as a member of The Arc of the United States, The Arc of Texas, and your
local chapter of The Arc. If there is not a chapter in your area of the state, you will be considered an "at-large" member of The Arc of Texas.
